Hello lovely people! I have finished my annual book covering project! Each year I cover my books differently before the beginning of a new year because it is one of the few things you can have at school that shows your personality and style. Like most schools in Australia, everyone in my school has to wear a school uniform everyday. This is a good thing because it eliminates the ‘She is rich because she wears all the expensive brands and he looks like he is so poor he found his clothes in the garbage.’ kinda bullying. But it also limits the creative outlet of expressing your style through clothing. So I have to find other methods to express my style and personality at school, like covering my school books in lovely things I adore.
Last year I scrapbooked the covers of my books with scrapbook paper and pretty Amy Tangerine stickers. This year I decided to go with a black and white themes with lots of patterns and cute designs. All of the pictures on my books were found on Pinterest. I then edited some of them to make them more black and white for my books.
Last year I found these great heavy duty school books in Officeworks and unlike previous years they actually lasted a whole year of lugging around in my backpack to and from school without falling apart! The binding is fabulous and stylish! The covers of the notebooks are made out of thick cardboard rather than the flimsy covers of the standard notebooks!
I stick the pictures on the front of the (thick cardboard!!) cover and cover the now beautiful books in clear plastic contact so they last a whole year worth of school work and travel!
I am so inspired to use my lovely themed books for the coming school year! How are you going to cover your school books?
